Working in a coal mine... goin' down, down down...

Sometimes I really love my job. Like the past few days, when we have been doing a really fun lab. It's a mining simulation, the kids have to find beads in a "mine" full of corn and sunflower seeds. A good time was had by all.

On a related note, I have discovered the best classroom management tool I have ever used. I have some really loud classes -- they are not bad, just loud. I get very tired of constantly asking them to be quiet, so I did an experiment -- I played classical music in class while they were working on an assignment. I worked! They stayed quiet! Woohoo! I guess I'll be investing in some more classical music.

My kids would probably love Baby Einstein -- particularly since half of them are high anyway....
