I love everything about the end of the school year. Weather getting warmer, wearing fun spring clothes to school, and the knowledge that in 25 short school days the year will be over and I will have 9 blissful weeks off. The end of the year schedule is crazy, with SOL testing and awards ceremonies and senior events, plus we have covered most of the academic stuff already, so we do lots of labs and games and videos. Labs and games and videos=easier days for me.
This week we started my solar collector lab, which is basically the high point of the year in Ecology -- 6 days of alternately building solar collectors out of shoeboxes and sitting in the sun in the soccer field testing those collectors. I'll have to remember to bring sunscreen next week so I don't get burned. Gee, my job is so challenging sometimes.
Today the kids are working on building their collectors out of shoeboxes and aluminum foil, which means I will spend the day surfing the internet and planning for my turtle and sitting here...ahem, I mean working diligently on schoolwork. Yeah, yeah, working on schoolwork, that's what I'm doing.
I am going to Charlottesville this weekend for a birthday party, so it should be a fun weekend. I might have to spend some quality time in Old Navy while I am there as well. Here's to a lovely week to come!

The end of the year is THE BEST feeling! I think that's what I miss most-the feeling you get when it's almost over-such a sense of accomplishment and sheer joy over the three months of blissful quiet that will be reigning down on you soon-ENJOY! Have fun at Old Navy-they've got some cute stuff in there. At least Old Navy "Canada" does-I never know if it's different or what....
