The housebuying process is clicking along nicely. I met with a very nice young man from Wachovia on Friday and got some encouraging news, and I have another mortgage meeting on Tuesday. I have the VHDA website nearly committed to memory. I've talked to a realtor, and there are already a couple of properties I want to look at. I am working on my lists of must-haves and nice-to-haves, don't-likes and oh-hell-no-nevers, and I have figured out how much house payment I think I can afford. I also have six boxes packed, a few bags of stuff to go to goodwill, and a very full trash bin to be picked up. I am a little nervous about how I am going to get all this done and work and direct The Crucible, but I will cross that bridge when I come to it. There is so much in my life outside my control right now that I can't think too hard about it or I will start freaking out.
There is one thing I can control though. No matter how many houses I buy, there will be NO DOGS. Cat, perhaps. Iguana, possibly. NO DOGS.
Update: Change 6 boxes to 14. Go me!
